2015 Winter/Spring Concert Series
The San Diego Central Library @ Joan Λ Irwin Jacobs Common is pleased to announce the schedule for the Winter/Spring 2015 Concert Series. The upcoming season will include music that spans hundreds of years of music history, highlights multiple genres, and features ensembles and soloists from the East and West coasts.
The Series will begin with local favorites, Hot Pstromi,
featuring Yale Strom, the artist-in-residence in the Jewish Studies
Program at San Diego State University (SDSU). His ensemble will
highlight Eastern
European music and will include stories and history behind the
works. This family-friendly program will be held on Sunday, January 25,
2015 at 2:30PM in the Auditorium of the San Diego Central Library.

The annual series is made possible by the Friends of Central Library, the San Diego Public Library matching fund program, and public and private donations. The concerts are very important to musicians in the series because they provide a venue for them to perform locally. The community has responded enthusiastically as well, as shown by steadily growing attendance by musicians, music lovers, music appreciation students and San Diego residents.

Performing works by Benny Goodman, Antonio Lauro, Paguito D'Rivera, Kenji Bunch, and Philip Lipton.
February 15
The Mirabell Chambers Players
Julie Ayer (violin), Martha Lippi (cello), Karen Follingstad (piano).
Featuring works by Beethoven, Piazzolla, and Clara Schumann.
March 8
Alexander Wasserman, Piano
Featuring Liszt's Piano Sonata in B minor.
March 22
The Neave Trio
Anna Williams (violin), Mikhail Veselov (cello), and Toni James (piano).
April 19
Quartet Nouveau
Beethoven's String Quartet No. 15, Op. 132, Copland's Two Pieces for String Quartet.
May 24
Courtly Noyse
John Cassaboom, Laury Flora, Penny Hawkins, Vickie Jenkins, Jay Sacks, Sandra Stram.
Medieval and Renaissance music on period instruments.
- Where: Central Library Auditorium, 330 Park Boulevard. The Auditorium is across the courtyard from the library entrance.
- When: Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Programs usually last one hour.
- Cost: Programs are free and open to the public.
- Parking: Two hours of free parking with validation are available at the library, and additional parking is available at thousands of public spaces within walking distance of the library.
